Ham Sandwich of Dreams
With school season about to start, you are probably trying to think of new tasty school lunches ideas. I am sure you googled that too. Did you find the results repetitive or too elaborate? No problem, I got you. Here’s a delicious ham sandwich that young and adults will enjoy, especially if they are used to eating good Italian food. And if they are not, it’s never late to start. Make this in bulk and give them to your kids, your hubby or wife, and have one for lunch at work or home yourself.
Ingredients for this ham sandwich
olive bread – baguette style, ciabatta style, or even sliced
prosciutto crudo
asiago cheese
Belmorso extra virgin olive oil
baby spinach leaves
pitted black olives (optional, if you can’t find olive bread)
Preparation
Slice your baguette or ciabatta, or take your olive sliced bread out of the bag.
Next, drizzle some Belmorso extra virgin olive oil on each side of the slices, and spread it over the bread with a kitchen brush.
Toast your bread in the oven under the grill for a few minutes, until it gets some colour.
Once the bread is out of the oven, it’s time to start filling your ham sandwich.
Start layering the prosciutto crudo.
Next, take the cheese block and slice it thinly or into more ticker slices, as you prefer.
Layer the cheese on top of the prosciutto crudo.
Follow by adding a handful or two of baby spinach leaves.
Close the ham sandwich with the top slice of bread, and enjoy.
Buon appetito.
Tips
I served this with a bowl of spinach leaves, seasoned with salt and pepper, and finished with a drizzle of Belmorso extra virgin olive oil. For school, I suggest packing this in some baking paper and then putting the baguette into those brown bread bags. You can even use the baguette bag, if it came with one.
