Meat Pizza With Ham & Cheese

Ever heard of meatzza? We can take credit for that but we’d still like to share with you our delicious Italian-style meat pizza recipe.

If you always crave pizza but you want a healthier option, this recipe can be your base, and you can switch up the toppings every time.

This recipe is also a great one to use all those extra vegetables and cheeses that are about to go off.

Italian Meat Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 400 gr mixed minced meat (beef, pork, both, you choose!)
  • 100 gr breadcrumbs
  • 50 gr parmesan cheese or a similar one for grating
  • 1 egg
  • milk of your choice
  • Belmorso EVOO
  • 1 garlic clove
  • salt and pepper
  • 100 gr stringy cheese (sliced cheese, fontina, mozzarella cheese)
  • 100 gr cotto ham

How To Make It

  1. Put the ground meat into a large bowl with a drizzle of EVOO and a pinch of salt plus some pepper too.
  2. Grate the parmesan cheese in that same bowl.
  3. Add the breadcrumbs and the egg beaten.
  4. Mix, and if you think the mixture is a little dry, add some milk. You could also add spinach or courgettes. Vegetable will color, taste and liquid too. You want a wet mixture to make the meat pizza crunchier.
  5. Layer the mixture onto a baking dish, oiled or lined with baking paper or foil.
  6. Press it well and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C for 15 to 20 minutes.
  7. Take out of the oven, add your toppings, and bake for 5 minutes (or longer, if your toppings require it).
  8. We added Silano cheese and cotto ham.

 

Tips:

If you want to prepare it earlier for dinner. Bake it for 10 to 15 minutes.

Then before dinner, you can top it and bake it for another 10 to 15 minutes.
