Pinsa with Mortadella & Stracciatella

Did you see our new Pizza & Pinsa Sauces? They are the perfect pantry staple if you like to make easy Italian-style pizza at home. Many households love doing that so much that they have a designated day of the week – we like to call it pizza night. Do you have one?

Today, we are showing your how to use one of those pizza sauces to make an easy pinsa. Even if you don’t have an oven, you can make these in a pan.

Of course, if you’d rather have regular pizza though, you can follow the recipe and just switch the pinsa for pizza dough or ready to bake pizza bases.

Let me show you three delicious pinsa and pizza toppings.

Easy Pinsa Recipe

We have three different pinsa recipes coming your way, so if you like our unique Italian toppings ideas, stay tuned for the other two. These make regular pizza nights extra delicious, but you can also prepare them as starters for parties and get togethers.

Let me share the first recipe. We’ll share more topping ideas.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pinsa base or more (you can find them in the fridge section of most supermarkets like Dunnes and Tesco)
  • Olive Oil & Basil Belmorso Pizza & Pinsa Sauce
  • Mortadella slices (from the counter or packed)
  • Stracciatella cheese (or replace with another creamy cheese like cottage cheese, stracchino, or even ricotta if you like the latter baked)
  • a few walnuts
  • Belmorso EVOO

Steps

Place your pinsa base on a pizza dish. You can line it with baking paper or not, whatever you usually do.

Spread the Belmorso Olive Oil & Basil Pizza & Pinsa Sauce. One of these should be enough for two pinsa.

Now you have three options when cooking your pinsa, especially in this case:

1. add all the rest of the toppings (mortadella, stracciatella and walnuts) and bake your pinsa for

2. bake the pinsa with the tomato sauce for 10 minutes, and then take it out and add the toppins fresh. I suggest this method over the first one as these ingredients are tastier fresh.

3. cook your pinsa in a large pan (you might have to cut into two, and cook each half separately) with the other toppings on or not. You can add them later as in step 2 to keep them fresh.
